Description
Non-governmental research and documentation institution specializing on the history of anti-totalitarian resistance in Czechoslovakia and abroad under communist rule, 1948-89.

The focus of the Center's work is research and comprehensive support for research as well as encouraging historical research and raising historical awareness in the society.

In 2002 the Center’s collection became a section at the National Museum. Work is under way to catalogue the collection and make it accessible to public.

In 2003, the publication of a Yearbook of the Czechoslovak Documentation Center was launched. The publication's objective is to contribute to the study of the anti-totalitarian resistance in Czechoslovakia and abroad under the Communist r?gime, to gather testimony on non-conformism, samizdat, formation of civil society, citizens' initiatives, and opposition under totalitarianism. The periodical also deals with manifold activities of political and cultural emegres.
