Description
The Anna Akhmatova Museum at The Fountain House had been opened by the 100th anniversary of Akhmatova’s birth in 1989 and was the first one dedicated to those representatives of Akhmatova’s generation who tried to save their world and personality under the conditions of the totalitarian state.
The most valuable collections are the following: Akhmatova’s library, Josef Brodsky’s library, I. Lesman’s collection of rare books and manuscripts written by poets in 20th century, L. N. Gumilyov’s and his wife’s collection of graphics and works of applied art, N. S. Nesmelov’s collection of graphics (Leningrad views in 1930-1960).
