Description
The National Institute for the Memory of the Romanian Exile (INMER) is a public institute established in 2003. Its goal is to put together and study all data and documents which are significant for the Romanian exile, when the country was under the totalitarian rule. Currently INMER is working on development of a samizdat/tamizdat archives and research and activly collects documents that have resulted from the dissident movement during the Communist regime. The Institute has its own archive and employs a team of researchers.
The samizdat research is at the beginning, based on a program lunched in January 2006. INMER has a collection of tamizdat items covering the period 1950-1989.
