Description
The Jimmy Carter Library is one of the nine Presidential Libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration. The Library's purpose is to collect, preserve, and make available to the public the historical materials that tell the story of the presidency of Jimmy Carter. The White House materials of the President and Mrs. Carter and their staff, donated to the National Archives in 1981, form the core of the Library's resources. This publication focuses primarily on these White House materials. However, other collections that further illumine that period of history have been added to the holdings, and periodically new materials are acquired.

The library contains secondary sources on dissident movement and samizdat in the USSR. One of such sources is a publication "Bibliography of Soviet samizdat, Feb. 1976 - April 1977: textual records" located in the collection JC-1133: Records of the Office of the Assistant for Public Liaison, 1977 - 1981 --> Creator: President (1977-1981 : Carter). Office of Public Liaison. (1977 - 1981) --> Series: Jane Wales Files, 1977 - 1978 --> FILE UNIT: Samizdat Bibliography 2/76-4/77 (O/A 4461), 02/1976 - 04/1977 --> CONTAINER: 99.
